Ten interrelated principles form the basis of the Credit Union Code for the Protection of Personal Information (the Code). Each principle must be read in conjunction with the accompanying commentary.
Accountability - Me-Dian Credit Union is responsible for personal information under its control and shall designate a Privacy Officer who is accountable for the credit unions compliance with the principles of the code.
Identifying Purposes - The purposes for which personal information is collected shall be identified by the credit union at or before the time the information is collected.
Consent - The knowledge and consent of the member are required for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, except in specific circumstances as described in this Code.
Limiting Collection - The collection of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purpose identified by the credit union. Information shall be collected by fair and lawful means.
Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention - Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the member or as required by law. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfilment of those purposes.
Accuracy - Personal information shall be accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is necessary for the purpose for which it is to be used.
Safeguards - Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Openness - The credit union shall make readily available to members specific, understandable information about its policies and practices relating to the management of personal information.
Individual Access - Upon request, a member shall be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of their personal information, and shall be given access to that information. A member is entitled to question the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.
Challenging Compliance - A member shall be able to question compliance with the above principles to the Privacy Officer accountable for the credit union's compliance. The credit union shall have policies and procedures to respond to the member's questions and concerns.
Me-Dian Credit Union will only gather information that is essential to the product or service that our members request from us. Me-Dian Credit Union will collect your personal information fairly and legally, and you will be fully informed of these actions. We will only use the gathered information for its purpose and for nothing else. We will not rent, trade or sell you information to any third parties.
The following information listed will show how Me-Dian Credit Union gathers information from you.
We require name, contact information and occupation to establish your identity and to communicate all future account information and available services. This information is also frequently queried and updated to meet the minimum industry and regulatory requirements necessary for all members. Age, Gender, and Date of Birth helps Me-Dian Credit Union confirm you identity, detect and prevent error, identity theft, fraud and helps safeguard you financial interests. This information may also be used to ascertain the suitability and/or eligibility for certain products or services we offer.
Me-Dian Credit Union is legally required to acquire your social insurance number if there are any tax consequences to your transitions. We also use your SIN to conduct personal investigations, such as credit bureaus, and in conducting identity verifications as required.
We may examine you financial information to identify appropriate products and services, or to determine you eligibility if applying for new credit or account services. To best serve your future needs, we'll often reexamine the products and services you have with us in an effort to promote other services that may be of value to you. You may opt to stop receiving promotional offers at any time.
Your personal information may be accessed during internal audit. These audits help us protect you from illegal or fraudulent activity. If required by law or for security or regulatory reasons, we may disclose your information to a third party, such as our insurance provider if a claim is made. 1. GENERAL
From time to time, Me-Dian Credit Union (the "Sponsor") will run giveaway contests. The "Contest Group" will be composed of the Sponsor, or other legal entity directly involved in the contest and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and other representatives.
For each contest the Sponsor will display, either in one of the branches of the credit union or on the credit union website and social media, the details of the prize(s) and entry eligibility of the contest. Unless otherwise displayed, no purchase is necessary to be eligible for the contest.
In Sponsor's sole discretion, additional contest rules, terms, and conditions ("Supplemental Rules") may be posted or displayed for each contest. Except as specifically stated in the Supplemental Rules, the Master Terms and Conditions contained herein shall continue in full force and effect. In the event that there are inconsistencies between these Master Terms and Conditions and the Supplemental Rules, the relevant provisions of the Supplemental Rules will prevail.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Unless otherwise displayed, contests are open to all members registered with Me-Dian Credit Union as of the date of entry and that maintain such status until the prize is awarded ("Eligible Members").
3. PRIZE CLAIM CONDITIONS
The winning entrant will be notified at the telephone number or e-mail address registered with Me-Dian Credit Union within approximately (5) business days of the draw.
In order to be declared a winner, the winning entrant must: (i) respond to notification of selection within three (5) business days of first attempt by Sponsor; (ii) sign and return to Sponsor within the stated time period a written declaration and social media release form, releasing the Contest Group from any liability in connection with this Contest or the use or misuse or possession of any prize (the "Release"); and, (iv) otherwise comply with these Master Terms and Conditions.
Return of any prize or winner notification as undeliverable, inability to reach winning entrant, failure of winning entrant to respond to notification by the deadline, failure to provide proof of eligibility (if requested), the Release, or other required documentation in a timely manner, or other non-compliance with these Master Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification, forfeiture of the prize and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, selection of an alternate winning entrant for the forfeited prize in accordance with these Official Contest Rules, who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner.
4. PRIZES
Prize(s) must be accepted as awarded and may not be substituted, transferred, or redeemed for cash at the time of said prize awarded. Sponsor forfeits the right, to substitute a prize of greater or equivalent monetary value if a prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prizes. Any other taxes, costs or expenses associated with the prizes not specified herein will be the responsibility of selected winners.
5. RIGHT TO VOID / TERMINATE / SUSPEND / MODIFY
Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, suspend or modify contests, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice or obligation if, in Sponsor's sole discretion, any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by official contest rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, if the contest, or any part thereof, is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, programming errors, or technical failures, which, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest, Sponsor may, in their sole discretion, void any suspect entries and: (a) terminate the contest, or any portion thereof; (b) modify or suspend the contest, or any portion thereof, to address the impairment and then resume the contest, or relevant portion, in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these official contest rules; and/or (c) award the prizes from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment in accordance with the winner selection criteria.
6. GENERAL CONDITIONS
Winning a prize is contingent on fulfilling all the requirements set forth by the Sponsor. Decisions of Sponsor and/or any independent contest judging organization will be final and binding on all matters pertaining to contests. Sponsor reserves the right to correct any typographical, printing, computer programming or operator errors. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Master Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Master Terms and Conditions shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any provision of the Master Terms and Conditions is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then the Master Terms and Conditions shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process, the operation of the contest, violates the Master Terms and Conditions, or acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH A CONTEST OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF A CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
7. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASES
BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS AGREE THAT THE CONTEST GROUP HAS NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY RESULTING FROM A PRIZE, INCLUDING THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE OR USE OF THE PRIZE, OR THE MERCHANDISE FOR WHICH IT IS REDEEMED. FURTHER BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS AGREE THAT CONTEST GROUP HAS NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY RESULTING FROM: A) ENTRY OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST, INCLUDING ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE CONTEST WEBSITE, OR B) ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PERSONALITY OR PRIVACY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION OR MERCHANDISE DELIVERY. Without limiting the foregoing, the Contest Group shall not be responsible for: (a) any incomplete or inaccurate information that is caused by contest website users, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions in the contest; (b) lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, service provider, on-line systems, telephone networks or telephone lines, or any other connections; (c) the theft, destruction, loss or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; (d) any problems with, or malfunctions or failures of, telephone networks or lines, computers or computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, viruses or bugs; (e) garbled transmissions or miscommunications; (f) failure of any e-mail to be received by or from the contest judging organization, Contest Groupr, or Sponsor for any reason, including but not limited to traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof or technical incompatibility; (g) damage to a user's computer equipment (software or hardware) occasioned by participation or downloading of materials related to a contest; (h) printing, distribution, programming or production errors, and any other errors or malfunctions of any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic or otherwise; or (i) technical, pictorial, typographical or editorial errors or omissions contained herein.
1. GENERAL
The Red River Exhibition Promotion begins on May 29, 2023, and ends on June 13, 2023 ("Time Period"). All entries received on and before June 13, 2023 will qualify for the draw. No additional purchase is necessary to enter. Unless specifically stated in these Supplemental Rules, the Master Terms and Conditions shall continue in full force and effect.
2. HOW TO ENTER
Eligible products include a new Me-Dian Credit Union Membership, a new Me-Dian Credit Union Loan Product by a current Member, and a Member Referral from a current Member. The owner of each eligible product will receive a total of one (1) Entry in to the draw for each eligible product.
3. HOW TO WIN
Within 72 hours after the end of the Time Period, the Sponsor will select multiple Entries, at random, received during Time Period. Odds of being selected to win a prize depends on the total number of eligible entries received during the Time Period and the total number of prizes made available by the Sponsor.
The winning entrant will be notified at the telephone number or e-mail address registered with Me-Dian Credit Union.
4. PRIZES
There are multiple prizes available to be won where the Sponsor will provide Two All Access Passes to the 2023 Red River Exhibition to each winning entrant. The total number of prizes available will be announced by the Sponsor before or during the draw, but will not be less than two available prizes.
